World Teqball Championships 2023 will Host in Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok’s Hua Mak Stadium is set to host the 6th annual World Teqball Championships 2023 from November 29th to December 3rd. This milestone event marks the first time the Teqball championships have ventured outside of Europe, where the sport originated. Previous host cities include Nuremberg, Germany in 2022, Gliwice, Poland in 2021, Budapest, Hungary in 2019, Reims, France in 2018, and Budapest again, where the inaugural Teqball World Championships took place in 2017.

Athletes from around the world will vie for a spot in the World Championships through local tournaments and national qualifier events. The competition will feature five event categories: men’s and women’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles. The world’s top Teqball players will compete for the coveted title of World Champion and a grand prize of $250,000.

“We are excited to introduce Teqball to Asia and witness the most skilled Teqball athletes competing for the championship title,” said Viktor Huszár, Chairman of FITEQ.

“I am thrilled and honored to continue my journey toward becoming a world champion,” expressed Margaret Osmundson, a Teqball champion currently ranked 4th in Women’s doubles. “My achievements are a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the process. It has been a challenging journey, but I am eager to pursue gold in either mixed doubles or women’s doubles,” she added.

With more than 200 athletes from over 50 nations expected to participate, the World Teqball Championships 2023 promises to be a global spectacle.

“Teqball has gained immense popularity in Thailand, and we are proud to host the 6th edition of Teqball’s prestigious annual event,” noted Gen. Ronnachai Munchusoontornkul, President of the Thai Association of Teqball.

Broadcasters worldwide, including Eurosport, MONO29 in Thailand, and ZhiboTV from China, are gearing up to air the matches live.
