Mariah Carey’s ‘Magical Christmas Special’ has shot to Number-1 on Apple Music and has topped the charts in over 100 countries. The music industry’s Queen of Christmas has once again ranked in the cash over the festive period.
“All I Want for Christmas is You” is the highest streamed Christmas song of all time in a digital sense. Although Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” is still the highest-selling Christmas hit in terms of traditional sales. However, Mariah’s gone and done it again with her Christmassy style and this TV special.

Inside sources reported that the streaming giant, Apple Music, has stated that the debut track from the special, “Oh Santa” featuring Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson has hit the Number-1 spot on the Apple Music streaming charts.
Mariah Carey’s ‘Magical Christmas Special’ is currently on a winning streak with no suggestion of slowing down. The special debuted on Apple TV on Friday 4 December 2020. The TV special featured Grande and Hudson, as mentioned above. And also a litany of other music stars such as Snoop Dogg, Billy Eichner, and Jermaine Dupri. The narrator was comedian Tiffany Haddish.
By all accounts, the show was a rip-roaring success and has gone on to become a Number-1 hit across 100 countries. It would seem like the Queen of Christmas still has some of that special pixie hiding dust in her cleavage to sprinkle upon the masses during the festive season.

It’s nice to see Mariah back. Her last few albums didn’t perform as well as her early stuff. Time has changed for everyone in the entertainment industry. And the change has been massive for the music industry. The once-thriving sector has been decimated over the past decades by illegal digital downloads. And it’s never fully recovered to its former heights. The music industry is, unfortunately, a shell of its former self and this is evident with the lack of quality pop music at the moment.
