The new Mortal Kombat trailer has finally been released ahead of the 16 April 2021 launch date of the movie. It’s been over 20 years since the last Mortal Kombat offering, and this one looks to be quite gory and bloody!
Action movie fans across the internet were excited when the new Mortal Kombat trailer was released on Thursday. And a sneak glimpse into the film is very very promising. We wrote about the new Mortal Kombat movie recently when the first screenshots were released.
New Mortal Kombat Trailer
The last Mortal Kombat movie, ‘Annihilation’, was released 24 years, so we are definitely overdue. And fans of the movie franchise were in for a real treat on Thursday when the first Mortal Kombat trailer was released 6 weeks before the movie launch date. Here is the new trailer.
The thing about the trailer that is surprising most folks is how gory, bloody, and downright violent it looks. From the trailer, we can deduce that those across the world who have a special birthmark are chosen to be part of a special fighting contest known as ‘Mortal Kombat’. The trailer shows some amazing effects as characters such as Sub Zero fight with police by freezing their arms and then smashing them to pieces with one punch. We do not think this will be a family-style flick, which is great news.
Mortal Kombat Trailer News
The new Mortal Kombat movie is a Warner Bros movie and expected to be released on HBO Max and in theaters on 16 April. This will be the third movie adapted from the gaming franchise. And it promises to be the best one yet, especially after watching the Mortal Kombat trailer.
The films are adapted from the console game of the same name that was originally released in 1992. Mortal Kombat 2, which was then released on the Sega Mega Drive was an instant classic with gamers. It introduced us to many famous characters such as Sub Zero, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Liu Kang, and many more. After watching the trailer, it would seem like many of your favorite MK characters are back for the movie.
Coming to a Theater Near You
It’s been a tough 12 months for the movie industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected theatrical releases in movie theaters across America and Western Europe in the past year. So, we can only hold our breath for the new Mortal Kombat movie release in early-April. We are hoping that American movie watchers will be able to get to the cinema for the film. But if not, you can always watch it on HBO Max.
The new Mortal Kombat trailer is raising eyebrows as we can now prepare for something that looks very good. We hope it lives up to the hype because we really need some good news to kick off the first quarter of 2021. If you are a fan of the Mortal Kombat games, it would appear you are in for a real treat.
