Phuket Vegetarian Festival leads you to fortune.
The vegetarian festival brings good luck to the attendees, who witness the sacred rites. You might think that the rituals are cruel which looks like it, but the Vegetarian Festival is a holy cultural festival. The Vegetarian Festival is the ninth month of the Chinese calendar. The festival takes place around Phuket.
The Phuket Festival is 194 years old. The Festival took off in 1825. The Thalang governor, Praya Jerm moved then to Phuket Island’s Kathu district, where much Chinese (tin) miners worked later in the mines.
The Phuket Vegetarian Festival and Vegan Meals.
Jungles and fever covered Kathu that was a common thread to the Thai people. Workers of an opera company got sick from an unnamed illness when visiting Phuket. These performers followed a strict vegetarian meals diet to battle the malaise and to honour the Emperor Gods Kieuw Ong Tai Teh and Yok Ong Sone Teh.
Surprisingly, they returned to health. The wonder became the talk of the town. The people started searching answers. The combined rituals and vegetarian food had been the cause of healing. People embraced this with strong faith and repeatedly celebrate this belief. It is one of the most attractive ceremonies of the entire annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival.
One of these residents volunteered to make a trip and return to Kansai in China. It was the volunteer who invited Hiao Ho-Le and Hiao Lan, both with God status to come to Thailand to celebrate this blessing in Kathu, Thailand. The sacred writings from Holy ceremonies on the 7th (seventh) evening of that ninth month to Phuket are today’s treasures for the festival as being celebrated today.
The ceremony starts at 9 pm and ends at midnight. The closing ritual begins in Phuket Town and stops in Saphan Hin for the farewell ceremony of the Nine Emperor Gods.
The devotees, who follow the ten rules of the Phuket Vegetarian festival will cross the bridge of purification and will be “rewarded.”
