Walking Street Pattaya for Families

Walking Street Pattaya has become one of the world’s most interesting and talked about places, enshrined for the ages to behold. You simply cannot visit Pattaya without making a pilgrimage to Walking Street.

When my father first visited Walking Street, he said “There is not another street anywhere else like this in the world.” So true! The street is home to hundreds of bars and international restaurants. And a selection of go-go bars and nightclubs that will make your hair curl. You would usually assume the street was an adult playground. However, Walking Street Pattaya is for everyone, even families.

Walking Street Pattaya is easily one of the most unique streets in the world

Another Side to Walking Street Pattaya

For those of you who don’t know, in the evening, the street becomes pedestrianized. People of all ages, color, creed, and cultures happily co-exist on Walking Street Pattaya. This makes you think that NATO should use this as a blueprint to bring about world peace, or at least fix Israel and Palestine, perhaps with lashings of mai pen rai.

You will find all kinds on Walking Street. From the sandal and sock wearing Germans and stern-faced Russians trying to decode the reality they see in their midst. To quaint Asian families walking hand in hand wondering what hit them. And even groups of European girls traveling around the sub-continent together. Walking Street is immense. The diverse mix of colorful characters would make this a breeding ground for the biggest social experiment the world has ever seen.

The Walking Street Pattaya Experience

Walking Street Pattaya is a great place to visit any time of the day or night

A stroll along the street with your family will be a fantastic experience. Did you know that legendary music artist Michael Jackson is alive and well on Walking Street Pattaya? Tales of his demise have been greatly exaggerated. A Michael Jackson lookalike trawls the street with a bag full of tricks, literally! Michael, dressed in traditional Jacko attire that includes the hat and glove, sets up his stall anywhere he pleases. He proceeds to perform a full magic show in the middle of the street. The kids will love it, and so will you.

I am from a certain age group that remembers the beginning of hip-hop. Every street corner where I lived had a break-dancing crew, performing a myriad of head-spins and robotic maneuvers to the sounds of New York’s finest up and coming emcees such as Whodini, Grandmaster Flash, and the Fat Boys. Walking Street has its own break-dancing crew, consisting of several young Thai kids who wow onlookers with their agility and athleticism. Hordes of onlookers surround the crew when busting their moves. It’s yet another example of the eclectic nature if Walking Street Pattaya.

Pattaya Family Fun

Families can enjoy large parts of the street as there are some of the finest restaurants in the region. You will also find musicians sat on the floor playing acoustic guitars and a plethora of artists who will create you a self-portrait in just 20 minutes.

It doesn’t matter how much I bang on about this 8th Wonder of the World. It’s only a matter of time until Walking Street becomes preserved forever as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enshrined for the ages to behold, much like the Terracotta Army, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, or Machu Picchu.

The only way to experience Walking Street is at first hand. It doesn’t matter about age, nationality or physiological disposition (the more off-key the better). This is a street you will remember for the rest of your life.

If you are thinking of visiting Walking Street Pattaya with your family and kids but are apprehensive, don’t be! The street is lots of fun for all ages and never fails to make your head turn!
