Thailand COVID-19 Vaccine for Half Population in 2021?

There has been lots of talk about a possible Thailand COVID-19 vaccine this weekend. It is being reported that half the Thai population could get the vaccine in 2021. And 70% of them by 2022.

The Thai government has stated it has been in talks with the drug company, AstraZeneca, and suppliers in China, India, Russian, and places of that ilk. Only high-quality production countries of course!

Viable Thailand COVID-19 Vaccine Next Year?

Although Thailand has been one of the most successful nations in the world for containing the virus over the past year, it all went pear-shaped this weekend. 500 new cases were reported in Samut Sakhon, as the Thai media currently spins around in circles spewing out vitriol like the girl from The Exorcist.

Anyway, back to the story at hand about the Thailand COVID-19 Vaccine. The director for the National Vaccine Institute, Nakorn Premsri, told the Financial Times this week that we need vaccines. Just in the same way an optician would say you need glasses… you get the point.

Premsri in his undoubted better ‘wisdom’ told the Financial Times that, “Let’s say that by 2021 we would expect around a maximum of 50 percent of the population to be vaccinated. Meaning that we need to… secure more doses of the vaccine. Theoretically, if we would like to protect the people, we should aim for 70 percent.”

Classic words such as ‘national security’ were banded around as usual. It’s interesting hearing officials saying we need more vaccines before we have even got any, and before any proper testing has been done. Let’s hope that Premsri is first in line to get his arm spiked by a dose from India, China, or Russia. Countries like this cannot even produce counterfeit watches that last more than two weeks. Good luck with that.

Concerns Sparking the Thailand COVID-19 Vaccine Talk

The Thailand COVID-19 vaccine concerns rose at the weekend with the supposed new cases in Samut Sakhon. Which all came at the same time as this new vaccine talk from the Thai government. How does this work? It’s so complicated to understand! Such a coincidence?

The alleged cases in Samut Sakhon happened to come from Burmese migrant workers. What a surprise. Burma is to blame of course. Those pesky foreigners blighting the purity of such a great Kingdom.

Thailand Herd Immunity

The director for the vaccines thing keeps talking about ‘herd immunity’. Yep, herds are involved in this, for sure. White wool ones. Ones that follow the one in front until they reach the slaughterhouse. Sorry for being cynical. Of course, governments and multinational pharmaceutical companies care so much about people and have our best interests at heart. It’s nothing to do with profit margins. My sarcasm oozes from this article.

One thing is for sure, thank god we have so many governmental agencies so concerned with our well-being. It makes you sleep better at night. Thailand COVID-19 vaccine from China, India, or Russia, anyone? Get in line to get your dose, coming to a city near you.
