In a groundbreaking moment, Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios has etched her name in history by winning the Miss Universe 2023 title in El Salvador last November 19. This victory not only marks a personal triumph for Palacios but also signifies a broader shift in the landscape of beauty pageants.
Sheynnis Palacios, a 23-year-old model and community developer, has become the first delegate from Nicaragua to clinch the prestigious Miss Universe crown. Her journey began in 2016 when she won Miss Teen Nicaragua and has now culminated in this historic achievement.
Before Sheynnis Palacios was crowned Miss Universe, the top three candidates included Anntonia Porsild from Thailand as 1st Runner-Up and Moraya Wilson from Australia as 2nd Runner-Up.

The Miss Universe 2023 pageant showcased a remarkable embrace of diversity and inclusion. This year featured two transgender contestants, Rikkie Kollé and Marina Machete, alongside mothers, married women, and divorcees competing for the first time, breaking the pageant’s traditional norms.

Evaluated contestants based on various criteria, contributing to the international essence of the pageant.
