The Peaky Blinders movie will happen says the show’s creator and director Steven Knight. Anyone who follows the exploits of gangster-turned-politician Tommy Shelby and his band of badasses will know just how cool and addictive the show is. And we will get a movie to cap off the story.
Everyone’s plans have suffered this year with COVID-19, and that is also true of the sixth and seventh seasons of Peaky Blinders. The sixth season was supposed to be released later this year, but that doesn’t look so good at the moment. However, Knight has confirmed a Peaky Blinders movie in the future to replace season 7.

Peaky Blinders Movie After Season 6
The sixth season of Peaky Blinders will be the last, but not the end of the boys from Small Heath. Apparently, a Peaky Blinders movie will be the way that the show ends. That’s what the show’s creator, Knight recently told the entertainment news website, Deadline. There was supposed to be the seventh season to wrap things up but the pandemic has changed those plans somewhat.
Talking about how the sixth season has been delayed and seventh replaced by a movie because of COVID, Knight said:
“Covid changed our plans. But I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. That is what is going to happen.”
Surely the only way to end this epic story is a guns-blazing finale like in Scarface or other monumental gangster epics. But as we have come to learn with ‘the blinders’ we are never quite sure what is going to happen. Did you think that John Shelby would be gunned down in broad daylight?

Peaky Blinders Movie Story
So, what will be the story of the Peaky Blinder movies? No one is quite sure yet, but we can expect violence, drama, and the dark comedy the show is famous for. As long as Arthur Shelby survives I don’t really mind. The older brother is one of the best and most-loved characters, so hopefully, he doesn’t go out like John.
However, the show’s executive producer, Caryn Mandabach, did mention a few things to Deadline about the movie:
“This final season of our beloved Peaky Blinders is going to be the best one yet. Steve’s uncanny ability to be prescient about world events is only matched by his ability to make Tommy Shelby the most indelible character of our times.”
It seems that we can expect a spectacular movie that will once again prove why Tommy Shelby is one of the best TV drama characters in British television history.
