Pattaya New Year’s Eve Events Cancelled by Chonburi Governor

It’s been confirmed that all Pattaya New Year’s Eve events will be canceled to fight the spread of the latest Thailand COVID-19 outbreak. The news came yesterday directly from the Chonburi Provincial government, banning large public gatherings for the new year in Chonburi province.

If we thought it couldn’t get any worse for Thailand’s tourism, nightlife, and events industry, we haven’t been paying attention to 2020. This will easily go down as one of the strangest and damaging years, especially for economies across the world.

Pattaya New Year’s Eve Concerts Banned

There were going to be many fantastic Pattaya New Year’s events taking place in the city on 31 December 2020, but not anymore!

The Pattaya Mail reported yesterday that the Chonburi provincial order to ban new year’s eve parties across the province had been administered. This will include the massive 3-day Pattaya New Year’s Eve party at Bali Hai Pier, and also the New Year’s Eve countdown party and star concert at the Amari Resort Pattaya. We reported this yesterday. The Koh Larn Countdown, and also the Huai Sukri Floating Market concert in Sriracha events are now canceled.

News From Chonburi Province Office

The news is that Gov. Parkarathorn Thienchai has issued bans across the province for large gatherings. These include all manner of places such as temples, mosques, and churches. Major events and Pattaya New Year’s Eve events are also included.

Other businesses are also expected to take special precautions during this time. Social distancing and temperature screening are expected at fresh markets, restaurants, entertainment venues, bars, pubs, shops, indoor shopping malls, and so forth. They also still want to enforce the ridiculously bad Thai Channa app, red square commie style.

Pattaya New Year’ Eve Events Going Forward

What does this mean for business owners or those looking to attend Pattaya new year’s eve events? That it will be a boring, but supposedly safe end to 2020. Thank god governments are here to save us from ourselves in their better wisdom. I am sure the sarcasm dripped from that sentence. But there’s always next year I suppose!

So what are you going to do now for New Year’s Even in Chonburi? Read a book? remove the dead skin from your nig toe with some sandpaper? Riveting stuff, right. The fun has been banned from the new year even because of the lack of control over migrant workers coming in and out of Thailand. But as the PM said yesterday, “it is everyone’s responsibility”. Haha, you couldn’t make that statement up in Kindergarten!
