Ayutthaya Thailand is just about 80 kilometres from Bangkok. It is situated North of Bangkok. The city was the previous capital of the Kingdom and was recognised as a vibrant and prosperous trading port. The capital was razed by the Burmese in 1767. The ruins of the old Ayutthaya Thailand serve as the Ayutthaya Historical Park. The park is an archaeological site with palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries and statues.
