If the dragon woman burning down an entire city was not enough to finally put you off the series, we can look forward to some more of the same. However, the Tales of Dunk and Egg will unlikely have the same madness as the original.

News on Games of Thrones Prequel

The entertainment news site, Variety, is reporting they have an insider who is exclusively breaking this story. If the news is true, fans of the show will finally be getting some much-anticipated news on the Game of Thrones prequel. And it’s good news.

The sources have said that the show is now in the early stages of development. But at the moment of writing there has been no official statement from HBO or any news on filming dates or any actors confirmed for the show. News is still a bit thin on the ground at the moment, but no doubt it will warm up like a fire blast from Daenerys Targaryen in the future.

The new Game of Thrones prequel will be a George R.R. Martin adaptation of three novels he wrote and published previously called Tales of Dunk and Egg. Those three books were part of the GOT universe, but from a different time to the main story.

The stories will follow the exploits of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and a much younger Aegon Targaryen, who we saw as a maester at The Wall as an old man in Game of Thrones. If you are a fan of Martin’s novels, this prequel will be a real gem. And for casual show watchers, it will be interesting to see which angle they take the new show.

Games of Thrones Lambasted Finale

The final season of Game of Thrones is very difficult for many fans to take. Personally, I didn’t think it was too bad. Although it was rushed and could have used two or three more episodes to do a better job. And that’s sad really that they squeezed in the final season that way. In some fan’s eyes, it undid all the amazing work from the previous 7 seasons.

However, the news about the Game of Thrones prequel now being in the early stages of development is heart-warming. It will be great to see how HBO does this. To be fair, HBO does an amazing job with shows like this one.
