South Korean Yesung spent his formative years in Seoul, South Korea, before relocating to Cheonan, South Chungcheong, also in South Korea. He is the elder sibling of Kim Jongjin, whose mother changed his name from Kim Jong Woon to Kim Jong Hoon to avert ill-fate, as the former translates into “thunderstorm cloud”. Yesung holds the position of main vocalist within the acclaimed Korean pop group, Super Junior, and is signed under Label SJ, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment.

YESUNG’s hobbies include singing, listening to music, and exercising. He also has some specialities. He once performed “Ring Ding Dong” with SHINee on a music show, as Jonghyun was too sick to attend. In 1999, YESUNG won a gold medal at the Cheonan Singing Competition. He became a trainee at SM after auditioning in 2001 and made his acting debut in 2007 with the drama “Attack of The PinUp Boys”.

YESUNG has a passionate and artistic singing voice and owns a cafe with his brother called “Mouse Rabbit Coffee”. He made his solo debut on 19 April 2016 with the album “Here I Am” and practices Catholicism. He appeared on the idol group forming show “Under Nineteen”.

South Korean Yesung, a boy band Super Junior member, is known for his eccentric personality. He dreams of visiting Canada someday and has a peculiar habit of changing beds every 20 minutes while staying in hotels. His stage name, “vocal cords of an artist,” is quite fitting as he is known for his vocal prowess. If he ever decides to retire from singing, he aspires to have a business career. Yesung served in the military from 6 May 2013 to 4 May 2015. He is a member of Super Junior subunits Super Junior K.R.Y and Super Junior Happy, and he has also participated in SM’s project group, SM The Ballad.
