Elephant polo is on again. The 15th Annual King’s Cup Elephant Polo 2017 will be held at the Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort and will once again be one of the most prestigious and eagerly-awaited Bangkok festivals in the calendar. Held on the banks of the Chaophraya River for a 4-day period, the event is one of the biggest charitable events in SE-Asia, set to generate 46m THB for projects that aim to give a better life to Thailand’s domesticated elephant population.
This year’s event promises once again to be great fun, with a total of over 30 unemployed former street elephants taking part.
There will be some cool polo matches taking place, which is always great to watch, and with so much of this Bangkok festival devoted to charity, it is a great event for those who want to make a real change in the lives of these majestic beasts.
