UK DJ, Paul Oakenfold, returns to Bangkok. This time, Oakenfold performs at Insanity Nightclub on 18 April 2018, as part of the Generations World Tour under the theme “The Birth of a Culture”. Insanity Night Club in Bangkok is the host venue for this event.

Paul Oakenfold is one of the classic Dj’s in the EDM spectrum and has performed several times in Bangkok. For friends, better known as Paul Markus Oakenfold, Paul is a UK record producer and trance music DJ.

Oakenfold has three Grammys in his name and was nominated two times for the World Music Awards.

Paul came into the spotlight when Rave culture exploded in 1988 in the United Kingdom as of where the United Kingdom and The Netherlands took the lead with Rave and underground parties. He toured Ibiza and remixed hits from UK bands, including U2’s “Even Better than the Real Thing” and The Rolling Stones “You Got Me Rocking” and Duran Duran “Out of My Mind”. Besides remixing existing tracks, he started producing his songs creating his signature sound of Goa sound combined with recognisable European songs.

Oakenfold reaches 90,000 people at Glastonbury

In 1995, he had the honour to enter the Glastonbury stage as the first-ever DJ and performing for a 90,000 people crowd which he still considers as the perfect gig. In 1998 and 1999, Oakenfold grabbed recognition with the first position in DJ Mag’s top 100 DJ’s, a list of prominent DJs, shaping the industry and becoming the resident DJ in the famous nightclub Cream.

Paul decided in 2000 to move to the United States to continue his career and played with legends, including Carl Cox and the Chemical Brothers at various ground-breaking festivals and events, such as the Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles in 2010. After multiple releases, including a remix of David Arnold’s James Bond theme. Southern Sun was a smashing hit from the album Ready, Steady Go. Saab used it in TV commercials. During his career, he remixed a variety of songs for POP diva Madonna, including “What it feels like for a Girl” as well as for Britney Spears “Gimme More”.

Oakenfold kept going on the party side of things. He continued travelling around the world and performed for the EDM baby boomers of that time. Paul played with great wheel of steel masters, including Ritchie Hawtin, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Judge Jules.
