Opera Siam opens its 18th Season with the hugely anticipated new production of the world’s first “rock opera”, Jesus Christ Superstar!

The trailblazing 1971 production which established Andrew Lloyd Webber’s career and influence on the World of musicals is directed by Somtow Sucharitkul and stages in Bangkok in December. The show features a carefully constructed and perfectly executed backdrop of 1st Century A.D imagery and stage art.
The production showcased at the Thailand Cultural Centre is licensed by Lloyd Webber’s company the ‘Really Useful Music Group’ with the production conducted by Thailand’s very own Trisdee Na Patalung.

The February version will be the full-scale “symphony orchestra” version of the three available performance editions and will be sufficiently enhanced by a HUGE ensemble of singers and actors and the 60-piece orchestra.
