EVERYBODY CALM DOWN. The 1975 are back in Bangkok. The indie-rock Thailand favourites are coming back to Bangkok in September as part of their 2019 Asia tour.

 

Matt Healy and co. follow their latest release ‘A brief inquiry into online relationships’ with brand new tour announcements and luckily for the army of Thai 1975 fans, make a very welcomed return to Bangkok following their 2015 debut at Centre Point Studio. Viji-Corp will bring the boys back for another sure-to-sell-out gig at Thunderdome, part of an Asia tour that will also land in Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila.

The band hail from Manchester in the UK; a city rich in musical heritage and often regarded as England’s coolest, boasting the homegrown talent of music icons such as Oasis, Joy Division and the Smiths. Made up of Matthew Healy (vocals), Adam Hann (guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass) and George Daniel (drums), the band were formed in 2002 and later signed following popularity and commitment to the local Manchester gig circuit.

 

Massive Success For The 1975

 

The band enjoyed swift success on a global scale following their debut release, an album packed full of chart hits such as “Chocolate”, “Sex”, “Robbers” and “Girls”. The band quickly soared in popularity all over the globe, earning themselves a particularly large fanbase in Asia. As the band began to soar on an international scale, the press praised Matthey Healy, the vocalist, as an icon for the new generation due to his songwriting skills and influence as a new-age musical icon. Their second album “I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It” was a daring blend of electronic-pop and indie rock that took the band in a brand new direction and was received with mass positivity from fans and industry critics alike. The album brought the band continued success along with a growing number of fans with hit songs are such as “Love Me”, “Ugh!”, “Somebody Else” and “The Sound”.

The 1975 Radiohead and Combined Facebook Influences

 

This tour follows the release of their latest musical offering and third studio album “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships”, featuring top singles such as “Give Yourself A Try”, “Love It If Me Made It”, and “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME”. Yet again the band launched themselves out of any musical restrictions and put out a diverse and exciting collection of songs for the Facebook-generation, citing Radiohead as their primary influence.

 

A walk around any Bangkok shopping market such as JJ or Train Market is enough to show the sheer impression the 1975 have had on Thai fans, with T-shirts and other merch readily available.
