Goethe presents the German Film Week this week in different venues around Bangkok. Rather than choosing the large impersonal cineplexes, the choice has fallen on smaller locations this year. The German Film Week takes place until 1 July 2018.

A Beautiful Choice of German Movies

This edition of this Film Week presents an excellent selection of the best what modern German cinema has to offer. Most films have been awarded and screened for viewers at the most prominent film festivals.

Highlights at the German Film Week

A highlight of this year’s German film week Bangkok is definitely “In the Fade”/”Aus dem Nichts”, “Western”, “Transit”, “Beuys”, and “Happy”. The first two films have been screened at the Cannes Film Festival while the last two captured the audience at Berlinale and Dokfest in Leipzig Germany.

Intimate Cinema Choice this Year

The venues serving as cinemas for these film screenings are the Bangkok Screening Room, the Oasis Cinema, Chang Chui and the Doc-Club Theatre at Warehouse 30. Goethe’s auditorium will also serve as a screening room during the film week. Choosing for these venues creates a better festival atmosphere where film-lovers can meet in an intimate ambience.

The week will also screen documentaries sharing powerful real-life experiences, such as “When Paul Came over the Sea”. You can participate in exciting discussions after the movies. Go here for the film screening program. Goethe is a cultural institute where you can learn German in Bangkok.
