We Love to Stay in Touch.
Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world and especially by the middle and upper classes in Thailand. One of the major tennis events this year in the Kingdom is the WTA Thailand Open 2020. The event will take place at the True Arena, Hua Hin on the 10th to 16th February 2020. The professional women’s event is one of the biggest happening this year in Thailand. World-class tennis fans must not miss!
Thailand Open 2020 Tennis
The Women’s Tennis Association Thailand Open 2020 is a tennis lover’s dream event. Although Hua Hin is predominantly known for its Thailand golf options, for one week in February, the region will be focusing on world-class tennis. The full player list for the event has not yet been released.
World No.5 Elina Svitolina and defending champion Dayana Yastremska will lead next month’s GSB Thailand Open presented by EA field and will be joined by Hsieh Su-Wei, Samantha Stosur and Tamarine Tanasugarn. We are expecting other names of the players joining the game following later this month.
Last Year’s Thailand Open Event
This event is the 2nd consecutive Thailand Open to be held in the region. Last year’s event was also held at the TrueMove Arena in Hua Hin. The event replaced the Taiwan Open on the 2019 WTA for the first time and was a roaring success. The 2019 Thailand, Open singles event, was won by the Ukranian player, Dayana Yastremska. The 2019 doubles event was won by the Romanian duo, Irina-Camelia Begu and Romania Monica Niculescu. Last year’s game, just like this year’s, will be played on hardcourt.
Thailand Sports Events 2020
Quite a few Thailand Sports Events are happening in the first couple of months of 2020, such as the Amazing Thailand Bangkok Marathon and the Origin Fun Run Bangkok. In Hua Hin itself, we have the Amari Hua Hin Skins Golf Week 2020 taking place in March. However, in terms of importance, nothing can match the Thailand Open 2020 WTA tennis event. The ticket prices for the special days of the Thailand Open have yet to be released or confirmed. It is expected to be very popular with locals and Thailand tennis fans alike.
The final will take place on Sunday 16 February 2020, which is expected to be a sellout. It is possible that you might be able to get a ticket on the door in the early rounds, but not from the semi-finals onwards. If you want to catch a world-class sporting event taking place in Thailand during February, Thailand Open 2020 is the one for you.
