Pattaya Golf Courses to Play Post COVID-19

It’s more important than ever before to support Pattaya golf courses and other local businesses post COVID19. And if you are a golf fanatic who lives in Pattaya or closer to Bangkok, we have some great options for you to consider.

Pattaya really is a golf lover’s paradise with over 25 courses within a 45-minute drive of Pattaya City. The choice is simply stunning and with so much competition, you can find some mega-affordable deals. However, true golfers like to play the best courses when they come to Pattaya for a golf holiday. Here are some top-notch Pattaya Golf Courses, not in any particular order, but this is only the opinion of most people that play golf in the city, so hey-ho, you might think differently.

Laem Chabang International Country Club

Laem Chabang Pattaya Golf Courses

Laem Chabang Country Club is one of the best Pattaya golf courses

Laem Chabang International Country Club is located a 25-minute drive outside the city and enjoys breathtaking scenery. The fact that it was designed by golf messiah, Jack Nicklaus, makes it even more desirable for golfers. This is a must-play course when visiting the region – it’s like going to Egypt and forgetting to view the Giza Plateau… completely sacrilegious!

This lush and exotic course comprises three sets of 9 holes – dully name the Mountain 9, Lake 9, and the Valley 9. Each set is roughly 3,500 yards in length and a test for any golfer, although in my opinion, much more forgiving than the Siam Country Club Plantation Course. Each hole has its own name, not a number, and the aesthetics of each is akin to a work of art seamlessly sculptured into natural surroundings.

The Plantation @ Siam Country Club

Siam Country Club is located near Lake Mabprachan, just a 20-minute drive out of the city and home to 3 courses: The Plantation, The Old Course, and The Waterside. The Plantation is a 27-hole course built in 2008 and designed by the Arizona-based renowned designers, Schmidt & Curley Design Inc. Taking its name from the surrounding Sugar Cane, Tapioca, and Pineapple plantations, which are also the individual names of each 9 holes. The Plantation is a fascinating mix of lofty tee-offs, stunningly maintained fairways and greens, and a colossal amount of sand traps. Weave your way through this gem of a course and make sure you are hitting the ball well.

The Old Course @ Siam Country Club – World Class Pattaya Golf Courses

Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course

Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course hosted the LPGA Honda Classic

The Old Course at Siam Country Pattaya was first built in 1972 but enjoyed some renovation work in 2006. This is one of the most famous Pattaya golf courses. The course routinely hosts the Honda LPGA Thailand, which shows you the high standards we are talking about. The Old Course is more of a traditional course, much flatter than The Plantation and much more user-friendly. Don’t let this become a false dawn, because the 18 holes are also quite challenging – as you would expect from a Championship course.

Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club

Located a 35-minute drive outside Pattaya at Huay Yai, Phoenix Golf and is a woodland course with excellent conditions. This is one of the easiest to reach from Pattaya City and comes with 3x 9-hole courses that combine to create something special. Set on a 400-acre site with a stunning countryside setting, Phoenix is slightly more forgiving than Siam Country Club and Laem Chabang, but still offers quite a challenge and shouldn’t be overlooked if you want to play the best golf courses in Pattaya.

Rayong Green Valley – Affordable Pattaya Golf Courses

Rayong Green Valley is one of the most popular Pattaya golf courses with local ex-pats. The course merges an affordable price and excellent quality facilities like no other. It literally is one of the best value for money golf courses in Pattaya. With a parkland type layout with many tree-lined fairways, you need to keep the ball straight from the tee or you will be in trouble. Other courses located on the grounds of Rayong Green Valley include the expansive St. Andrews 2000 course and Silky Oaks Golf Club. The courses are a 45-minute drive from Pattaya towards Rayong, but it’s worth the drive!

The Pattaya golf scene really is spectacular in every way. With so many top-notch and affordable Pattaya golf courses, you really do have lots of choices. Let’s get out there post-COVID19 to support the courses so they will still be around in the future.
